Fansly vs OnlyFans for Creators: Fees, Payouts and Features
Fansly and OnlyFans look similar from the outside: subscriptions, paid messages, tips and an 80/20 split. The differences show up in how fans find you, how subscriptions can be structured, and how big the audience is. This comparison sets out what's the same, what's different, and how to decide.
Editorial note: Based on each platform's published terms and help pages as available on 8 October 2026, and the VANTA team's experience. Fees and features change, so check both platforms' current terms before deciding. VANTA works mainly with OnlyFans creators.
Is Fansly or OnlyFans better for creators?
Neither is better for everyone. Both take a 20% fee on creator earnings. OnlyFans has a much larger, better-known audience, which helps fans trust your link. Fansly offers more built-in discovery and multiple subscription tiers. Creators who rely on outside promotion often prefer OnlyFans; some add Fansly for its discovery features.
How do Fansly and OnlyFans fees compare?
Both platforms take 20% of creator earnings, so creators keep 80% of subscriptions, tips, paid messages and other fan payments. Payout options and minimums differ. Fansly lists minimums by payout method, from $20 for some methods up to $100 for international wires and crypto, and a seven-day pending period on earnings.

How do fans find you on each platform?
On OnlyFans, most fans arrive from your own promotion on social platforms, as built-in discovery is limited. Fansly has more discovery features, such as feeds and tags, that can show your content to fans already on the platform. Even on Fansly, outside promotion usually matters.
What's different about subscriptions?
OnlyFans uses one subscription price, with options such as bundles, discounts and free trials to vary it. Fansly lets creators offer several subscription tiers at different prices, each with different access. Tiers give fans more choice and can raise income per fan, but they take more planning and clearer communication to manage well.
How big is each platform's audience?
OnlyFans is far larger. Its published figures for the year to November 2025 reported around 437 million fan accounts. Fansly doesn't publish comparable figures. A larger, recognisable platform can make fans more comfortable clicking your link and paying, especially if they already have an account.
How do privacy tools compare?
Both platforms offer tools such as geo-blocking and the ability to restrict or block users, though how they work differs. Check each platform's current settings before relying on them. See OnlyFans geo-blocking for how blocking by location works on OnlyFans.
What about content rules?
Both platforms allow adult content within their own rules, require creators to verify identity, and require anyone appearing in content to be verified and consent. Rules on particular content types, AI content and promotion differ. Read each platform's terms rather than assuming they match.
Can you use both Fansly and OnlyFans?
Yes, many creators do, as long as each platform's rules allow it and you're not bound by an exclusivity agreement with an agency or platform. Running two pages takes extra time for posting, messaging and promotion, so many creators start on one and add the second once their routine is stable. See using OnlyFans and Fansly at the same time.
How do chargebacks and disputes compare?
On both platforms, refunded or charged-back fan payments can reduce your earnings. The details differ, including how disputes are reviewed and whether extra fees apply. Read each platform's terms on refunds and chargebacks, and keep honest selling habits on both. See OnlyFans refunds and chargebacks.
Which platform is better for privacy-conscious creators?
Neither is automatically more private. Both verify your identity privately and let you use a stage name. What matters most is how you use the tools: geo-blocking, watermarking, keeping personal and creator accounts separate, and checking content for identifying details before you post.
How should you decide?
Think about where your fans come from, how much time you have, and whether you want discovery or recognition. If you already promote on social media, OnlyFans' recognition may help. If you want more built-in discovery, Fansly may be worth testing. Track results on each before committing.
Decision checklist:
- Where will most of your fans come from?
- Do you want one price or several tiers?
- How much time can you give to more than one page?
- Have you read both platforms' current terms?
- Are you free of any exclusivity agreement?
