What to Do If an OnlyFans Agency Owes You Money or Won't Let You Go

Most agency relationships end without drama. When one doesn't, it's usually over money (an invoice you think is wrong, or money the agency is holding) or control (an agency that won't hand back access). This guide gives you a calm, ordered plan that protects your account first and your claim second.

Editorial note: Based on GOV.UK and US court guidance checked on 8 October 2026 and the VANTA team's experience. This is general information, not legal advice. Court limits and procedures differ between England and Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and each US state. For anything significant, speak to a solicitor or attorney.

What should you do first in a dispute with an OnlyFans agency?

Secure your account before anything else: change your password, check the account email, turn on two-factor authentication and confirm the payout method is yours. Then download your OnlyFans statements and save every contract, invoice, message and email with the agency. Only then raise the dispute, in writing.

Evidence checklist:

What if the agency is holding your earnings?

If your payouts went to an agency's account rather than yours, change the payout method back to your own account immediately so future earnings come to you. Then calculate what the agency received, what commission it was owed under the contract, and the difference. That figure is the basis of your claim.

This is the situation most worth avoiding in the first place. At VANTA, payouts go to the creator's own account and VANTA invoices the creator, which is the set-up we'd recommend whoever you work with. See how OnlyFans payouts work.

How do you dispute an agency invoice?

Compare the invoice line by line with your OnlyFans statements and the commission terms in your contract. Common errors are commission charged on gross instead of net earnings, refunds not deducted, or charges for periods after your notice ended. Write to the agency setting out each error, the correct figure and what you'll pay.

Our guide to reading an agency statement and invoice covers each line in detail.

What is a letter before claim?

A letter before claim is a formal letter setting out what you're owed, why, and the deadline for payment before you start court action. In England and Wales, courts expect you to try to settle first and normally allow a reasonable time to reply, often around 14 days. It often resolves the dispute on its own.

Include:

  1. Who you are and the agreement you had.
  2. What went wrong, briefly and factually.
  3. The exact amount owed and how you calculated it.
  4. A deadline to pay or respond.
  5. That you'll consider court action if it isn't resolved.

Can you take an OnlyFans agency to small claims court?

Usually, yes, if the agency is in the same country and the amount is within the limit. In England and Wales, claims up to £10,000 normally go to the small claims track, and you can start a money claim online. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own procedures. In the US, small claims limits vary by state.

If the agency is in another country, court action becomes harder and more expensive, and getting paid even after you win can be difficult. That's worth weighing before you sign with an agency you can't easily hold to account.

What if the agency threatens you or won't give back access?

Threats to leak content, publish your personal details or "ruin" your account go beyond a contract dispute. Keep every message, don't respond in anger, and report threats to the police. If you can't access your account, use OnlyFans' account recovery from your own email and contact OnlyFans support.

If your account was taken over, our guide to a hacked OnlyFans account walks through recovery. If the agency is posting your content elsewhere, you can file takedown notices.

Should you try mediation first?

It's often worth it. Mediation is a meeting with a neutral person who helps both sides reach an agreement, and it's usually quicker and cheaper than court. In England and Wales, the small claims mediation service is free for many claims once they're in the system. An agreement in writing is easier to enforce.

Frequently asked questions

Can I stop paying my agency if I think the invoice is wrong?

You can dispute the incorrect part and pay what you agree is owed. Put your reasons in writing. Refusing to pay anything can put you in breach of contract, so take advice if the amounts are significant.

What if I never signed a contract with my agency?

You may still have an agreement based on what was said, written in messages and done in practice. Gather every message about terms. A lack of written contract makes disputes harder for both sides, which is why written terms matter.

Can I report an agency to OnlyFans?

You can report rule-breaking behaviour on your account to OnlyFans, but OnlyFans won't settle a contract dispute between you and an agency. Its terms say its relationship is with you, not with anyone who helps you run your account.

How long do I have to make a claim?

Time limits apply. In England and Wales, contract claims generally must be started within six years. US limits vary by state. Don't leave it late, because evidence and memories fade.
