How to Read an OnlyFans Agency Invoice and Monthly Statement
An agency invoice is where the promises in a contract turn into numbers. Checking it takes ten minutes a month and can catch mistakes, misunderstandings or worse. This guide walks through each line you should expect to see, how to check it against your own OnlyFans statistics, and the red flags that need a conversation.
Editorial note: Based on the VANTA team's experience and common agency commission structures. Every contract is different, so check your invoice against your own agreement. General information only, not financial advice.
How do you check an OnlyFans agency invoice?
Compare the invoice with your own OnlyFans earnings for the same period. Check the gross figure, the platform's 20% fee, any refunds or chargebacks, the net figure commission is based on, the commission percentage in your contract, and the total. Every number should be traceable to your statistics or your contract.
What lines should an agency invoice show?
A clear invoice shows the period covered, gross fan payments or earnings, the platform fee, refunds and chargebacks, the resulting net figure, the commission rate, the commission amount, any agreed costs, and the total due. If it only shows a final amount, ask for the working.
| Line | What to check |
|---|---|
| Period | Matches the month you're checking |
| Gross earnings | Matches your OnlyFans statistics |
| Platform fee | 20% of gross, as OnlyFans takes it |
| Refunds and chargebacks | Deducted before commission, if your contract says so |
| Net figure | Gross minus fee minus reversals |
| Commission rate | Matches your contract |
| Commission amount | Rate × the basis in your contract |
| Other costs | Only if agreed in writing |
What does "net" mean on an agency invoice?
It depends on your contract, which is why you should check. Often "net" means earnings after OnlyFans' 20% fee. Some contracts also deduct refunds and chargebacks. At VANTA, commission is a percentage of net profit, meaning earnings after OnlyFans takes its 20% fee, agreed individually with each creator.
See agency commission explained.
How should refunds and chargebacks be handled?
A fair agreement calculates commission after refunds and chargebacks, so you don't pay commission on money you lost. Watch for reversals that happen after a month's commission was calculated: the contract should say how they're adjusted. See OnlyFans refunds and chargebacks.
How do you match the invoice to your OnlyFans statistics?
Open your OnlyFans statements for the same dates, note gross earnings and any refunds, and compare. Small differences can come from timing, such as earnings still pending, or time zones. Large or unexplained differences need a conversation. Keep a simple spreadsheet so you can spot trends month to month.
Monthly check:
- Download or screenshot your OnlyFans earnings for the period.
- Compare gross earnings with the invoice.
- Check the fee and reversals.
- Recalculate commission using your contract rate.
- Note any difference and ask about it.
What are the red flags on an agency invoice?
Commission calculated on gross when your contract says net, costs you didn't agree to, missing refund deductions, figures you can't match to your statistics, invoices with no breakdown, and an agency that controls your payouts and pays you "what's left". See how OnlyFans payouts work.
Red flags:
- No breakdown, just a total.
- Commission on gross when the contract says net.
- Unexplained "costs" or "fees".
- Earnings figures you can't match.
- The agency receives your payouts first.
Who should receive your OnlyFans payouts?
You should. Payouts should go from OnlyFans to your own account, and the agency should invoice you for its commission. This keeps you in control and makes checking easy. At VANTA, payouts go to the creator's own account and we invoice the creator.
What should you do if the numbers don't match?
Ask your agency for the working, politely and in writing, with your own figures attached. Most differences are timing or misunderstanding. If they can't explain it or won't correct an error, check your contract and consider your options. See what to do in an agency dispute.
How does the invoice relate to the monthly report?
The invoice shows what you owe; the report shows what the agency did and what changed. Both should use the same numbers. See what a good monthly agency report includes. If the earnings figure on the invoice differs from the report, ask which one is right and why before you pay.
How long should you keep agency invoices?
Keep every invoice and your matching OnlyFans statements for as long as you'd keep any tax record. Commission is usually a business expense, so invoices support your tax return. In the UK, HMRC generally expects records to be kept for at least five years after the Self Assessment deadline; in the US, generally at least three years.
Frequently asked questions
Should agency commission be on gross or net earnings?
It depends on your contract. Many agreements calculate commission on net earnings after the platform's 20% fee. Check what yours says.
Should I pay commission on refunded sales?
A fair agreement normally calculates commission after refunds and chargebacks. Check your contract.
How often should an agency invoice me?
Monthly is common. The invoice should cover a clear period and show how commission was calculated.
What if my agency won't show me the breakdown?
Ask in writing. A transparent agency should explain how every figure was calculated.
