How to Leave an OnlyFans Agency Without Losing Your Account

Leaving an OnlyFans agency should be boring: you give notice, the access ends, the last invoice is settled and you carry on. It only gets messy when the agency controls something it shouldn't, like your login, your payout method or your content. This guide gives you the order of operations that keeps you in control.

Editorial note: Based on the VANTA team's experience of creators joining us from other arrangements, and on the OnlyFans Terms of Service as published on 8 October 2026. It is general information, not legal advice. If your contract has penalties or you're being threatened, speak to a solicitor or attorney.

Can you leave an OnlyFans agency at any time?

Usually, yes, but your contract decides how. Most agency agreements have a notice period, and some have minimum terms, exit fees or commission that continues after you leave. Read the termination clause first. If there's no written contract at all, you can generally end the arrangement by giving clear written notice.

A fair exit clause looks like this: a short notice period, no fee for leaving, commission only on earnings made before the end date, and access removed on the last day. VANTA's own terms are one month's notice and no minimum term, which we think is a reasonable benchmark to compare against.

What should you do before you tell the agency?

Secure everything first, quietly and in this order, so nothing can be changed once the agency knows you're leaving. You're not being sneaky; you're protecting assets that are legally yours. Keep it calm and factual, and don't delete anything the agency might later need for a final invoice.

Use this checklist before you send notice:

How do you give notice to an OnlyFans agency?

Give notice in writing, by email, so you have a dated record. Say you're ending the agreement, cite the clause, state your last working day based on the notice period, and ask for a final statement and confirmation that access will be removed. Keep it short and polite, and avoid arguing about the past in the notice itself.

A simple structure:

  1. "I'm giving notice to end our agreement under clause [number]."
  2. "Based on the notice period, the agreement ends on [date]."
  3. "Please send a final statement covering [period] and your final invoice."
  4. "Please confirm that all access to my accounts will end on that date, and that no content will be kept or reused."

Who owns the account and content when you leave?

You should. An OnlyFans account belongs to the creator it was verified to, and OnlyFans' terms say its relationship is with you, not with anyone who helps you. Content you created is yours unless you signed rights away. Check your contract for any clause giving the agency rights to your content or name.

If the agency "owns" the account, opened it under someone else's details or holds content rights, get legal advice before you leave. Those contracts are exactly why we tell creators to confirm ownership before signing, as covered in red flags to check before signing with an agency.

Do you still owe commission after leaving?

Normally you owe commission on earnings made while the agency was working for you, up to the end of the notice period. Commission on income earned after you've left is a different matter, and only applies if the contract clearly says so. Ask for a final statement and check it against your own OnlyFans statements.

Common post-exit clauses and how to read them:

ClauseWhat it meansHow to treat it
Commission during noticeYou pay the normal rate until the end dateNormal and fair
"Tail" commissionA percentage of earnings for months after you leaveAsk why; negotiate it out before signing
Exit or termination feeA fixed charge for leavingA red flag, especially if large
Content licence after exitThe agency can keep using your contentRefuse; ask for deletion and confirmation
Non-solicitation of staffYou can't hire their chatters directlyCommon; check the length and scope

How commission is calculated in the first place is explained in our guide to agency commission. At VANTA, commission is a percentage of net profit, meaning the creator's earnings after OnlyFans takes its 20% fee, and payouts go to the creator's own account, with VANTA invoicing the creator.

What if the agency has your login or won't let you go?

Act on the account first, then the relationship. Try to reset your password through your own email. If the email was changed and you can't get in, contact OnlyFans support from the email you originally used and be ready to verify your identity. Then deal with the agency in writing and keep records.

If the agency threatens to leak content, keeps payments or refuses to hand back control, that may be more than a contract dispute. Keep screenshots and messages. In the UK, Action Fraud handles fraud reports and the police deal with threats; in the US, contact local police and you can report to the FBI's IC3. For money owed, see what to do if an agency owes you money.

How do you switch to a new agency safely?

Finish one relationship before starting the next. Let the old notice period run out, confirm all old access has ended, and only then grant access to a new team. Overlapping two agencies on one account muddles your statements, confuses fans and makes it hard to see who did what.

Before you sign again, check the new agency's terms on the same points that caused trouble this time: ownership, access, notice, payout routing and post-exit commission. The questions in our guide on how to choose an OnlyFans agency are a good starting point.

Frequently asked questions

Can an OnlyFans agency keep my account?

It shouldn't be able to. Your account is verified to you and OnlyFans' relationship is with you. If an agency has changed your email or password, use account recovery from your own email, contact OnlyFans support, and get legal advice if the contract claims ownership.

How much notice do I need to give an OnlyFans agency?

Whatever your contract says. Notice periods vary, so check the termination clause. If there's no written contract, give clear written notice and a reasonable end date. VANTA asks for one month's notice and has no minimum term.

Will my fans notice if I leave my agency?

They may notice a change in posting rhythm or message style. Plan the handover so posting and replies continue, either by you or a new team, and avoid long gaps. You don't need to announce the change to fans.

Can an agency use my content after I leave?

Only if your contract gave it rights to do so. Ask in your notice for confirmation that content will be deleted from the agency's storage and not reused. If an agency posts your content without permission after you leave, you can file takedown notices.

How does leaving VANTA work?

VANTA has no minimum term and asks for one month's notice. Creators keep their own login and ownership of their accounts and content throughout, so there is nothing to hand back when the arrangement ends.
