OnlyFans Verification Rejected or Stuck? Common Causes and Fixes

Few things are more frustrating than being ready to launch and getting stuck at verification. Most rejections come down to a handful of fixable problems: a blurry photo, a mismatched name, an expired document. This guide explains the common causes, how to fix them, and what to do if your verification seems stuck.

Editorial note: Based on the VANTA team's experience helping creators through sign-up. OnlyFans' help pages weren't publicly accessible when we checked on 8 October 2026, and its verification process can change, so follow the instructions and messages in your account.

Why was your OnlyFans verification rejected?

The most common reasons are a blurry or cropped ID photo, glare, an expired document, a selfie that doesn't clearly match the ID, a name that doesn't match your payout details, an unsupported document type, or edited images. Fix the specific issue, then resubmit carefully. Repeated rushed attempts can slow things down.

What does "verification in progress" mean?

It usually means your documents are being reviewed, sometimes by a person rather than automatically. This can take longer at busy times or if something needs a closer look. Avoid submitting again while a review is in progress unless you're asked to, as duplicates can cause delays.

How long does OnlyFans verification take?

It's often quick, but manual reviews can take longer, from hours to several days. There's no guaranteed timeframe. If it's been much longer than expected, check your email, including spam, for messages from OnlyFans asking for more information, then contact support if there's nothing.

How do you take a good ID photo?

Place the ID on a plain, dark, flat surface in good natural light. Make sure all four corners are visible, the text is sharp and there's no glare. Use your phone's camera directly, without filters or editing. Check the photo before submitting.

ID photo checklist:

How do you pass the selfie check?

Face a window or soft light, remove sunglasses and hats, keep your expression neutral and make sure your whole face is visible. Follow any on-screen instructions exactly, such as holding your ID or turning your head. Use the same appearance as your ID photo where you reasonably can.

What if your name doesn't match?

Your ID, payout details and tax form must all use your exact legal name. Nicknames, stage names, missing middle names or a recent name change can cause mismatches. If you've changed your name, use documents that match your bank account, or update one to match the other. See OnlyFans creator requirements.

Can you appeal a rejected verification?

You can usually resubmit after fixing the problem. If you think the rejection was a mistake, contact OnlyFans support with your account email and a short, clear explanation. Don't create a second account to get around a rejection, as that can break the platform's rules.

What if verification keeps failing?

Try a different accepted document, such as a passport instead of a driving licence, and retake your photos in better light. Check that you meet every requirement, including age and payout eligibility in your country. If it still fails, contact support and ask what specifically needs fixing.

Does verification affect payouts?

Yes. You generally can't receive payouts until your identity and payout details are verified, and mismatched names between your ID and bank details are a common cause of delays. Getting your details right at the start saves problems later, especially once fans have started paying. See how OnlyFans payouts work.

Can someone else verify for you?

No. You must verify your own identity with your own documents. An agency or friend can help you prepare, but they can't verify on your behalf. Accounts verified with someone else's ID break OnlyFans' rules and can be closed. See our launch checklist.

What should you prepare before trying again?

Gather everything first so your next attempt is complete and consistent. Rushing a resubmission with the same problem usually gets the same result, and repeated failed attempts can slow things down further. Check the reason given for the rejection, fix that first, then work through this list.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my OnlyFans verification taking so long?

It may be under manual review, which can take longer at busy times or if something needs a closer look. Check your email for messages from OnlyFans before contacting support.

Can I use a driving licence for OnlyFans verification?

Driving licences are commonly used as photo ID, but accepted documents can vary by country. If one document fails, try a passport.

How many times can I resubmit OnlyFans verification?

There's no published limit we could confirm. Fix the cause before resubmitting rather than trying repeatedly.

Can I verify with an expired ID?

No. Use a valid, in-date government photo ID.
